The UK tourism and recreation sector recorded the sharpest rise in growth as British hotels, pubs, and restaurants experienced an increase in consumer demand. Job creation hit pre-pandemic levels as the sector has been adding jobs for the first time since January 2020.

Portugal, with over 10 million residents, had 1,000 new COVID-19 cases for the third day in a row and the number of daily infections is back to what it was in late February. This issue is because Portugal opened its borders to visitors from the EU and Britain.
