Save our Summer is calling upon travelers to book holidays

The UK has seen the Save Our Summer group calling on the government to plan a reopening of the borders for May so people can book their holidays. The campaign is backed by many people within the tourism sector. 

Australia’s travel ban to be investigated 

The audit office will launch an investigation into Australia’s international travel ban and arrivals cap to find out whether the measures were adequate. More than 30,000 Australians are stranded overseas due to the pandemic. 

Canada’s new travel restrictions come into force 

New measures include mandatory PCR tests before flying, mandatory PCR tests when entering the country plus a  hotel quarantine of three days. 

The Travel Technology Association releases new date

Some interesting statistics that research in the United States has shown: 

  • 65 percent of respondents want to travel more than they did pre-Covid, as soon as it is allowed to do so.
  • 33 percent of respondents are willing to spend more money on travel than they did prior to the pandemic. 
  • 54 percent of respondents said they are more likely to tick off their bucket list destinations, once it is possible to travel again.
