The travel stocks this week crashed in Europe just as the summer vacations seemed safe.  This is because of the rising cases of the highly transmissible COVID-19 Delta variant. This has led to the European governments worrying about a new disease wave that would in turn create new travel restrictions and threaten to put the continent’s vital summer tourist season at risk.

Reserve enabled tours and activities operators with Google to capture reservations in Google business listings for specific accounts, while not having to navigate to other websites. Online travel agencies partners processed the bookings for Google on the back end. There was speculation that Google was on its way to becoming an online travel agency. This was a strategy to achieve consistency across its various products for monetization purposes. However, now Google will be ending this facility. 

 

Skyscanner turns to CRM

In an effort to provide transparency and improve trust for travelers this Summer, Skyscanner has turned to CRM, personalized email comms, and created an interactive dashboard. This is because the company saw a lot of demand for EMEA travelers. There have been 43% more purchasing in trips than what it was in 2020.
